5 Free Ways to Enjoy your Home Staycation (well…almost free!)

There is one thing that unites people all around the world in 2020: the pains and challenges of on and off lockdowns. With the tough time and the level of uncertainties about the future, it has never been more important to look for the inner zen to keep ourselves sane. Sometimes there is no point fighting the inevitable, we have to be at one with our situation and do our best to coexist with life’s challenges. Only this way can we dissipate our innermost demons.

What does this mean for you? If you can’t go on that trip to Marbella, or visit loved ones in foreign lands, we must accept, be patient and wait for our opportunity for life to return to normal. In the meantime, we can find ways to be at peace with our situation and still make the most out of the wonders life has to offer, even at home. Here are our 5 tips for an awesome Home Staycation to keep yourself mentally healthy.

1. Go for a hike
Get your body moving with some exercise. Do what you can in your nearby environment. If you have mountains, climb them. If you have hills, scramble up. If you have nothing but flats, go for a long walk in a new area, or along the river. Take in the nature and release those endorphins.

2. Go camping!
For those with a garden, front porch or communal land nearby, get yourself a little tent or even go cowboy camping (i.e. no tent, exposed to the elements). The change in scenery and immersion in nature is chicken soup for the soul.

3. Alfresco dining
Erase the boredom by taking a random meal outside. Whether that involves sitting on your doorstep, moving a small table to the porch, or finding the local park, get some fresh air to clear your mind.

4. Do Yoga
